Historical hair oiling grew my own hair from chin length to tailbone length, and last week I tried it on my sister-in-law Edyta’s straight blonde hair as a masque to see what would happen!
Edyta struggles with an oily scalp, dry ends, and tangles. She is also hoping to minimize the amount of hair loss she experiences on a regular basis. She hasn't used oils very much in her hair - this was probably her first time ever doing a full hair masque with oils. What happened when we applied my herbal hair growth oil to her hair? Neither Edyta or I could have predicted the results from just one application...
Historical hair oiling (in various forms) has been used all around the world for as long as we can tell, and it is a time-tested way to grow longer, thicker, and healthier hair. I am now offering my own herbal hair growth oil blend for purchase if you are interested! I have been using different iterations of this blend for many years, and I have spent the past several months refining and perfecting it. I’m so happy to now be offering it for sale!
So if you want to try this, what do you need, and what are the basic ground rules? First, you need hair oil, of course! This can be as simple as a bottle of olive oil from your kitchen, or as complicated as a herbal infused DIY recipe. If you’d like the benefits of an Ayruvedic herbal infused oil made with a blend of organic specially curated oils, essential oils, and growth boosting herbs and nutrients, you can purchase my herbal hair growth oil here.
You will also need your fingers, a detangling comb or brush, and a plastic shower cap for protecting your pillow at night. Which brings me to my next point…
How long should we leave this on?
I recommend leaving the oil in your hair for 12-24 hours. This gives the oil more time to absorb and work its magic, and means you will have much less hassle and time spent washing it out later. Win win!
How often should we do this?
I recommend for best results using oil treatments at least once a week, or up to 3 times a week. Oils like my blend can also be used very lightly as a serum for your ends as often as daily. If you are doing more a heavy masque like I did with Edyta’s hair, once a week is the perfect frequency. For a lighter scalp treatment, you can go up to 3 times a week depending on your hair and scalp type, as well as your lifestyle.
To see the full story of how the oil application worked on Edyta's hair and her tremendous results, watch the video! But suffice it to say that Edyta's hair felt transformed! Silky soft, her usual tangles non-existent, and the shine level was insane! Not to mention the amazing long-term results you can get from this elixir, including increased hair length, thickness, and improved scalp health.
